“Beauty and the Beast” and “Stomp the Yard” star Brian White was in Birmingham this summer as the celebrity mentor for the On The Set film camp program. In photos provided by the program this week the television and film star is seen sharing his knowledge of the entertainment business and in scenes from the movie he made with the aspiring young filmmakers. Production on the project took place back in July.
White tweeted about his visit to the state of Alabama last month on his twitter page.
"Had a truly amazing experience at the #OnetheSet Film Camp. What talented youth 'Bama has! Thx to Birmingham, AL for being so welcoming!"
When we spoke with the camp’s founder David Tucker Jr. a couple of months ago, he said the program was happy to have a star of White’s caliber to mentor the students.
“Brian is a phenomenal transitional actor. He has the ability to go from dramatically serious to refreshingly comical.“
White joins a special group of entertainers who have served as mentors for the program which teaches young artists about the ins and outs of the movie industry. They include actress Tonea Stewart, actor Malik Yoba and White’s “Stomp the Yard” co-star Darrin Henson. White’s film with the students will premiere Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Alabama Theater.
