Girls just wanna have fun.
So do TV audiences who love the HBO series Girls, a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their early 20s. The series was created by and stars Lena Dunham.
Atlantic Records is set to release Girls Volume 2: All Adventurous Women Do . . . Music from the HBO Original Series, the musical companion to the acclaimed comedy series. Wish we knew there had been volume 1!
The CD is available for pre-order via iTunes (itunes.apple.com/us/album/girls-vol.-2-all-adventurous/id795414070?ls=1). All pre-orders will receive an instant download of Jenny Lewis' "Completely Not Me," heard during HBO's two-part season premiere of the hugely anticipated third season of Girls.
The first track to be unveiled from the awkwardly named CD, "Completely Not Me," had its online debut via Entertainment Weekly's companion website (music-mix.ew.com/2014/01/13/girls-soundtrack-jenny-lewis/) and is exclusive to this soundtrack release. The collection further features an additional array of exclusives from such acclaimed artists as Miguel, Zero DeZire, Cat Power and Michael Penn.
As if all that weren't enough, the CD also gathers brand new tracks from Beck, Lily Allen and Atlantic's own Christina Perri, as well as recent favorites and certified classics by such stars as Vampire Weekend, Oasis, M Ward, Father John Misty and the one and only Daniel Johnston.
You will have fun.
