First Lady Michelle Obama wins push-up contest with Ellen DeGeneres

Two fit and fabulous ladies went head-to-head (make that bicep to bicep) on TV today in a push-up contest. On the one side: Ellen DeGeneres, the hilarious, anything-goes talk show host...and on the other side: First Lady Michelle Obama, the stately, brilliant woman who has made a mission of battling childhood obesity while somehow juggling the responsibilities of a First Lady, her own fitness program, and being a mom.

It was no contest: Michelle Obama won (pardon the pun) hands down. She's talked about her determination to stay fit in the White House - and she's clearly succeeding! Ellen bravely tried...but after watching the First Lady finish her first 24 push-ups without breaking a sweat, Ellen collapsed.

The First Lady's appearance on the show promoted her "Let's Move!" campaign, focused on encouraging people to exercise to battle obesity.  As for her own fitness program? She informed an impressed Ellen that her daily 1 and a half hour workout includes cardio, weights and plyo-metrics!
