Just one day after Robin Roberts, anchor of "Good Morning America," announced publicly that she has a long time girlfriend, First Lady Michelle Obama showed her support through a tweet.

According to New York Daily News on Dec. 30, the tweet read:

"I am so happy for you and Amber! You continue to make us all proud." -mo

The tweet came from Michelle Obama while vacationing with her family in Hawaii. Notice that the -mo indicates she authored the message herself and not her staff.

The tweet has been retweeted thousands of times.

According to Roberts' Facebook page, she is getting support from people for acknowledging publicly her relationship with a long time girlfriend named "Amber."

Since Roberts' posting, there have been reports that the girlfriend is Amber Laign, 39, a massage therapist. She and Roberts, 53, have been in a relationship for 10 years.

The ABC network said those who work with Roberts have known about the relationship for a long time; however, this is the first time Roberts has mentioned anything publicly about her sexual orientation.

Now that Robin has come out, there is likely to be more news about the pair based on what Roberts wrote:

"I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together."
