First Lady Michelle Obama will guest star on an upcoming military-themed episode of the Disney Channel series Jessie.

Jessie is a sitcom centered around a young woman named Jessie Prescott (Debbie Ryan) who grew up on a military base in Texas and now works as a nanny for the children of the wealthy Ross family in New York City. The episode airs as part of Disney's support of both the U.S. Armed Services and the White House's Joining Forces Initiative and will also feature a special Public Service Announcement by Mrs. Obama. In the episode entitled "From The White House To Our House" Mrs. Obama attends a birthday party at the Ross' home for Zuri's (Skai Jackson) friend Taylor (Kyla-Drew Simmons) whose mother Sgt. Harris (Yvette Saunders) is a deployed member of the military. When Taylor decides she doesn't want to celebrate her birthday without her mother Zuri enlists the help of Mrs. Obama who arranges for Sgt. Harris to attend her daughter's birthday party.

This guest appearance is one of several being made by Mrs. Obama in the coming weeks including an upcoming spot on the ABC series Nashville. In the episode Mrs. Obama will be hosting a military charity event with Kellie Pickler. This will add to Mrs. Obama's growing roster of Disney appearances as Nashville airs on the Disney-owned ABC network and stars Charles Esten who also guest stars as Morgan Ross, the father on Jessie.

The new episode of Jessie featuring First Lady Michelle Obama is set to air Friday, May 16 at 8PM/EST on Disney Channel.
