There is something that can be said about one’s first kiss-- good or bad, it’s an experience you will always remember. One Mountaineer remembers his episode well. Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported on Tuesday, Aug. 26, that West Virginia quarterback Clint Trickett shared his first kiss with University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s daughter, Kristen.

We know what you are thinking, kissing with the enemy, but that is not the case. This smooch was shared many years ago.

When asked about his relationship with coach Saban Trickett started by saying, "His daughter [Kristen] was my first kiss, back in the day. So yeah... I don't know if I should have said that. She's actually engaged now.” He later added that, "For clarification, we were like six years old! Just so everyone knows that."

Was this the right move for Trickett? As Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg mentioned on Mike & Mike, Saban has a full line of defensive linemen that could pummel him for said kiss. But the QB shouldn’t worry too much. Trickett, his family and Saban have been close for many years. In 2000 his father, Rick, was a coach under Saban at Louisiana State University. At Alabama a few years later his brother, Travis, was Saban’s graduate assistant.

“Coach Nick is one of the greatest there is,” Trickett continued. “My brother worked for him. He was a GA for him when (he) first got to Alabama. And we've known him for years, family friends and just one of the best coaches out there."

This year, West Virginia will be starting their season off against Alabama. Although during the offseason Trickett had shoulder surgery, he will be the starting QB at Saturday’s game. The Mountaineers finished their last season at 4-8. Which was the worst record the team had since 2001. The Chick-fil-A Kickoff game will kick off at 3:30pm Saturday, Aug. 30 on ABC.
