First images: Mitakon 50mm f0.95

Last year, Sony announced its first mirrorless, full-frame cameras: the A7 and A7r. Problem: no full-format compatible Sony lenses that can work on mirrorless. Solution: upstart Chinese lens maker Mitakon announced that it was developing a 50mm, f0.95 lens for Sony's new FF mirrorless format.

Now, the company has posted the first images for their still in-development lens.

As is reported by the Imaging Resource, the first images supposedly made by the lens have not hit the web. Unfortunately, thanks to the limitations of online web translators, few specifics are able to be deduced.

However, what is knows is this: there are lots of images, both indoor and outdoor, being posted online, the images are all in-camera JPEG files, and the vast majority of the images are shrunken down to uselessly small size for determining any real quality for the images the lens can produce at full 24Mp resolution.

Still, the thought of a f0.95 lens at an affordable, so Mitakon promises, price point is nonetheless very intriguing.
