Sledgehammer Games have unveiled the first teaser image for its upcoming Call of Duty game that is set to be released sometime during Fall 2014.
The image features a zoom of an in-game character model that will appear in the game. It was first revealed during the Game Developers Conference 2014 back in March but was first reported by Mitch Dyer of IGN.com on April 22.
While its only one image, it has already impressed some game writers. Stephany Nunneley of VG24/7 has stated, "While it’s just a man’s face, it shows the how next-gen the firm intends the game to look."
However not all gamers were impressed with the image as a lot of negative remarks flooded the comment section of the article. Many are already expecting the new Call of Duty to be like previous games or worse.
Back in February; Activision announced that Sledgehammer Games will be developing their own Call of Duty game, which will give Infinity Ward and Treyarch a longer production time. Sledgehammer Games had previously assisted in the development of the multiplayer features.
The announcement led to resurrections of rumors that the next game will be in the Modern Warfare story arc. There was a great amount of them back in 2013 during the build up to the official announcement of Call of Duty: Ghosts.
This upcoming Call of Duty will be the eleventh game in the popular series that has sold over 100 million copies and on average has 40 million active players a month.
