Rockstar Games previously promised that Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer component, Grand Theft Auto Online, would receive constant updates following its Oct. 1 launch on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The developer provided the first details Wednesday on what content to expect following the multiplayer rollout including more vehicles, weapons and co-op Heists.
No dates have been made available on when the following free content updates will be released to GTA Online and their order could actually change according to Rockstar. There could be some additional content coming down the pipeline as well but this appears to have the month of October covered.
- The Content Creator: The Content Creator will launch with tools to tailor and publish your own Deathmatches & Races.
- The Beach Bum Pack: Featuring 4 new amazing beach fun vehicles, over 300 new items of incredible down tempo leisure wear and 2 new but not remotely relaxing weapons.
- Capture the Flag: GTA Online’s take on the classic CTF mode including the ability to make your own using The Content Creator.
- Heists: This update will introduce full-on cooperative Heist missions that will require careful planning, teamwork and sharp execution – along with the Heist Planning Board for your apartment.
The availability of the above content is also dependent on how well GTA Online performs under the stress of millions of gamers trying to log in at the same time as well. The game has already set sales records and Rockstar is taking the preemptive stance of warning players that the multiplayer will likely have some growing pains at launch.
