Thanks to a combination of early sales and leaks, the first cheat codes for Grand Theft Auto V leaked out Sunday. These leaked codes show a more old-school approach to cheats for the hot PS3 and Xbox 360 title that releases this week.
While Grand Theft Auto IV used Nico's cell phone to enter cheat codes, GTA uses traditional button combinations for the DualShock 3 and Xbox 360 controllers instead as discovered by GTA5cheats and Cheat Code Central. With these codes you can spawn select in-game vehicles such as the helicopter, raise or lower your wanted level or cycle the in-game weather.
There is an important catch though that players should be aware of though. Activating any of these cheats will disable the ability to earn PSN Trophies or Xbox LIVE Achievements. Additionally, the cheats will have to be entered each time the game is started as they are not saved.
Here are the known cheat codes for both consoles that can be enabled while playing Grand Theft Auto V.
