First ‘Far Cry 4’ details revealed by ‘Far Cry 3’ publisher (Photos)

The first details have been revealed by Ubisoft in regards to the upcoming title, “Far Cry 4.” According to a report by the NeoGAF forum on Feb. 7, the publisher behind “Far Cry 3” disclosed in a conference call that fans are “eagerly waiting” the next installment of the series. They also mentioned that “Far Cry 4” will take less than the four years that it took to develop the predecessor. This is because they have found the “right gameplay” formula.

Far Cry 3” was released by Ubisoft for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms in North America on Dec. 4, 2012. The third game in the “Far Cry” series was mainly developed by Ubisoft Montreal with additional help from Ubisoft Massive, Ubisoft Red Storm, Ubisoft Reflections and Ubisoft Shanghai. “Far Cry 4” will most likely be released on the PS4 and Xbox 720 since both next-generation gaming systems are expected to come out by the end of 2013.
