Game Insight is a company pioneering the mobile game and midcore game genre. Examiner had the opportunity to participate in a live demo of their most recent game “Tank Domination”. The MMO mobile tank battle game isn't quite finished yet but it has a lot of potential. Read on to learn more about the upcoming game “Tank Domination” from Game Insight for mobile devices.
“Tank Domination” is a multiplayer tank simulator for mobile devices. In fact it’s the first of its kind. It will be completely free-to-play and can accommodate up to 20 players at a time (10 vs.10). The game will be always-on allowing for fast paced competitive PVP play in synchronous real time.
The game is from Game Insight, a mobile/social game company that’s been around since 2010. The company is currently expanding into mid-core games like “Starborn Wanderers” and “Dragon Eternity”. Mid-core games are titles between casual and hard-core games. This tier of game is perfect for hard-core gamers looking for something to play on their mobile devices which are relatively easy to pick-up and play but still use skill and strategy.
The upcoming mid-core game release “Tank Domination” is set to release later this year. Set to launch with over 30 vehicles many of which are based of real life tanks from the US, Russia and China. There are four basic classes of tanks to choose from (light, medium, heavy and artillery). Building a team composition with different classes of tanks affords more levels of strategy.
While the tanks aren't set in any historical time-frame they do have modern-day armor. The game itself takes place in post-apocalyptic 2023 in which world powers are competing for the Earth’s resources. Maps are set in Asia and the Middle East with terrain your tanks can destroy or get stuck on as they run it over. The game will launch with at least 4 playable maps.
The recent demo at Game Insight’s office in San Francisco pitted the press and US team vs. the developers in Moscow. To win the game your team must either eliminate the enemy team or capture and hold their base. Different strategies are more pertinent depending on the map.
The game is easy to pick up and play with an intuitive interface and touch controls you use to move and change your view. Use the touch controls to zoom in for more accurate shots. Once you've spotted the enemy tanks on the map blast’em away. If you die before the match has ended you’ll seamlessly transition into spectator mode where you can watch your team hopefully blast their way to victory.
“Tank Domination” is also quite customizable. Players earn ‘Valor Levels’ as they play the game which will allow them to unlock more features. Players can increase their selection of available tanks to choose from as they level up or they can choose to level up their favorite tanks. Also available to purchase are shells for your tanks which you’ll probably want to stock up on between matches or else you’ll run the risk of running out of ammo during the game.
All this is done from your player profile which is called the ‘Hangar View’. In the Hangar is where you can really customize your tanks and game play. You can even heal your damaged vehicles.
There’s no release date yet for “Tank Domination” but it should be released for iOS later this year. Built using Unity there are plans to release the game for Android next and then other platforms as well making the game cross-platform. Post launch more locations will be added such as a US map. Other updates will include: a global conflict map, additional battlefields, tanks from other nations, more play modes and a whole lot more. Check out the game here.
