Soccer fever has hit South Florida!

There have always been soccer fans down here in our very diverse state of Florida, but ever since David Beckham came to Miami, soccer has been a very hot topic of conversation around here. Now there is even more reason to celebrate, as the first ever FC Barcelona Soccer Academy lands in South Florida.

Kaptiva Sports, one of the leading soccer academies affiliated with world-famous FC Barcelona, will be opening the first FC Barcelona Soccer Academy in Lauderhill this spring. FBEscola Florida will train boys and girls ages 6 through 13 under the same logistics as Spain's FC Barcelona's coach. Organizers expect over 1,000 to show up for tryouts.

Oriol Sala, President of Kaptiva Sports, said, “After many years of offering the Barça training style at soccer camps in the U.S., we thought the time was perfect to establish a permanent home for our program. We are eager to begin this new chapter and make sports history in South Florida.”

Tryouts for the official FC Barcelona Academy will be on May 17th and 18th, at Central Broward Regional Park in Sunrise, FL. Boys and girls ages 6-13 are welcome. Please contact FCBEscola Florida for more information.

Do you know any aspiring athletes who have what it takes to be a soccer player? FCBEscola Florida might be just right for them. You can find the registration form for May 17-18 tryouts here.
