First day of 2013 PGA tour in Hawaii, ends in do-over

Do to unseasonably inclement weather, the Hyundai Tournament of Champions' opening day, first round, is a bust. The World's greatest golfers battled torrential rain and wind gust up 25 mph. The 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions takes place at The Plantation Course at Kapalua, from January 3-7, 2013.

The golfers played on, in the rain, until the tour officials stopped the proceedings. In an unprecedented motion, for the Hyundai Tournament, the officials dismissed the day's score card tallies, in favor of restarting the tournament the following day, weather permitting. It was the first time since, the Players Championship in 2005, that a round had been wiped clean.

Jan. 4, Kapalua, Hawaii, (AP) "All scores were erased, only 20 players in the 30-man field even had scores of their cards, and the round will start over today with 36 holes, weather permitting."

Rickie Fowler and Jason Dufner only made it through eight holes, while six players, including defending champion Steve Stricker, had not even teed off.
