In 2013 is the time for women who rock to shine in the red carpet. She Rocks Awards will honor for the first time women who stand out within the music industry, the event will take place on Jan. 25 at the Anaheim Marriot.
She Rocks Awards will recognize among others, guitar prodigy, Orianthi who has been a remarkable musical accompaniment for some of the greatest guitarists today. Steve Vai is one of them, both lead guitarists killed with the solos on the Stairway to Heaven's cover featuring Mary J. Blige. Additionally, in conjunction with Vai, Orianthi became one of the most watched on YouTube with the video “Highly Strung”. Moreover, she also played at the Michael Jackson's “This Is It” tour. Orianthi is currently on tour as the lead guitarist in Alice Cooper's band.
The honoree of the night at the She Rocks Awards, will be Holly Knight, a multi Grammy® winner musician and producer. Her songs have been featured in box-office smashes such as Thelma and Louis, and the top hit TV shows like Family Guy, 30 Rock, American Idol and Oprah Winfrey
According to ROTA Magazine, The Women International Music Network™ (the WiMN), officially announced on Jan. 14 in a press release the first annual WiMN Breakfast in partnership with NewBay Media during the upcoming NAMM show. "In addition to bringing together women in the industry for the first event of its kind, the meeting will launch the first annual She Rocks Awards, also in partnership with NewBay Media. The awards pay tribute to women who display leadership and stand out within the music industry."
