A day of family fun filled events is scheduled on the waterfront at the Port of Redwood City this Saturday, October 2, 2010 starting at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The free first annual Port Fest event will kick off with a pancake breakfast to be followed by a welcome ceremony. Water front bus tours and harbor tours aboard the Marine Science Institute vessel Brownlee will be featured along with dockside tours of the new high speed eco-friendly ferry boat, and sailboat rides.

Other events will include the Oktoberfest Beer Garden, live music, food, arts and crafts, and a variety of vendors. Children will be entertained by numerous activities and historical presentations, along with a family treasure hunt.

Pancake Breakfast is from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. held at the Sequoia Yacht Club. The cost is $7.00.
