First annual Musica En La Calle at Hotel Havana

Hotel Havana is having its first annual music event in the parking lot on Saturday March 23, 2013. Musica En La Calle will be an evening of Latin jazz, mambo and salsa music under the stars in Downtown San Antonio.

Tito Puente, Jr and his orchestra, local favorites Colao as well as other guests are scheduled to fill the Hotel Havana and Ocho parking lot with fabulous music and celebration. There will be food vendors on site as well as a cash bar.

Tito Puente, Jr is a bandleader and son of the legendary mambo musician Tito Puente. Determined to keep his father’s musical legacy alive he often performs his music during his shows. He has performed in casinos, symphony halls and jazz festivals worldwide. His new CD, “Got Mambo?” is a combination of classic tunes and new and original music.

Colao is a favorite local Latin orchestra that plays salsa music blended with jazz and other Latin sounds. Led by Ray “Colao” Rodriguez, they play some original music but they are mostly a cover band that mixes mambo, salsa and bachata to create their own style of music.
