The party starts at 1:00 p.m. (ends at 6:00 p.m.) but you can register as early as 11:30 a.m. at Lalos and be first on the Trolley. Team Cantina Crawl will be on hand to answer any questions and help get you off on the right foot. (You will also be able to pay a discounted rate at the University Village parking complex adjacent to Lalos).
Mariachis will be performing in select venues, as well as Norteño and Trío bands and some local musical acts including DJs that will play a myriad of styles from venue to venue. Appetizers and food samplings will also be offered at participating venues. Yes! Mariachi Perla de Mexico will play from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Caminos De Michoacan Bar as part of the day's festivities.
This event will take place in the Pilsen Neighborhood and University Village, and it is significant as the first organized 5 de Mayo event to take place in the Historic Mexican Neighborhood and surroundings. Proceeds from the event will support the 2014 Film, Arts and Music Festival to take place in Pilsen in August, 2014.
