Priceville took its only lead of the game with a free throw by Wesley Baker, but a 7-0 run by the Raiders put them out front and they never looked back in their 59-45 area win over the Bulldogs. Kyle Aycock dropped in a shot for Good Hope that gave them the lead and a subsequent 3-pointer by Chase Laney along with a basket by Garrett Roberts gave the Raiders a 7-1 lead.
The Bulldogs took advantage of cold shooting by Good Hope the remainder of the quarter and pulled to within a single point at 7-6 with a trey by Matt Teague and a shot by John Hawkins. Jayson Moody ended the Good Hope drought seconds into the second quarter and a trey by Laney doubled the Raider lead at 12-6. The Raiders then proceeded to score 10 of the final 17 points in the half for a 22-13 half-time advantage.
Good Hope held the Bulldogs to a mere five points in the third quarter and held a 15-point lead going into the final frame. The last two minutes of the game got heated and with just over a minute left to play, tempers were flaring and three technicals were called (two on opposing players and one on the Priceville bench). Once the fireworks settled and the referees had reclaimed control of the game, Good Hope improved its record to 10-11 on the season.
Aycock led Good Hope in the win with a game-high 22 points, Laney and Scott Motes each contributed with 11 points, Roberts dropped in 10 points, Moody added four points and Alex Harbison chipped in one point.
Hawkins led the Bulldog charge with 13 points, Kalieb Gibson finished with 10 points, Bennett Clark and Teague each knocked in six points, Cody Gibbs added four points, Michael Varner contributed with five points and Baker had just one point.
