Create these fun firework inspired decorations to place on your New Year’s Eve party table. Simple and affordable to make, the firework decoration looks best when clustered together for a dramatic impact on a black surface such as a black tablecloth. After the New Year, take these firework decorations to accessorize your bookshelf or coffee table.

  1. Take toothpicks and stick them into the styrofoam ball so that the entire ball is fairly densely covered with toothpicks (approximately a ¼” spacing between the tops of the toothpicks).
  2. Take gold spray paint and paint the top half of the foam ball and tooth picks.
  3. Wait for the paint to dry and flip the foam ball over and paint the entire other side so that the styrofoam ball and toothpicks are fully covered in gold paint. Depending on how heavy you apply the paint it might be necessary to do a second coat of paint on both sides.
