Happy 17th birthday Firestone Walker! Since the Paso Robles brewery’s 10th anniversary, they’ve celebrated in style by releasing a blended barrel-aged beer featuring a variety of selections from their extensive collection of oak barrels. The 8th release in the series, Firestone Walker XVII, was created by blending 220 barrels and 7 different beers, coming in at 13.3% ABV.
Firestone Walker XVII will debut at the brewery on November 2, with distribution across the country beginning afterwards. Look for 22 ounce bottles to hit both New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York for a suggested retail price of $23.99
What’s in the blend? Firestone brewmaster Matt Brynildson and a host of area winemakers tirelessly sampled a myriad of beers to come up with the final product. The end result is different every year, creating a unique drinking experience driven by a combination of barrel-aged beer ranging from English barleywine to black rye IPA.
