Comic-Con is upon us. Though the panels will not be starting until tomorrow, that is not stopping bigger films from getting a head start on the event. On Monday the poster of Jurassic World was revealed; while Sony Pictures has just revealed their plans for The Amazing Spider-Man series. However, the latest from Comic-Con come from WB and it just so happens to be on the last chapter in The Hobbit Trilogy. The next installment, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, is set to hit screens this December; and you can imagine that fans and moviegoers have been eagerly awaiting something from the film. So far, a new image was revealed earlier this week; but now hitting the scene at Comic-Con is the first poster for the upcoming fantasy film.

Like the previous two chapters, this teaser poster follows in the same footsteps by being a one shot image. However, instead of featuring Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) looking on at the world ahead this first poster features Bard the Bowman (Luke Evans) as the main subject. It is not difficult to see what Bard is looking at as he is going face to face with the furious Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch). As the dragon approaches, everything around Bard is engulfed in flames. Like the previous teaser posters, this sheet says a lot by not saying much. It is the perfect tease for fans as the image is definitely the scene following the last sequence of the second film, and is but a taste of what we can expect this holiday season.

Another good thing about this news is what is likely to follow; for whenever a poster to a big movie is revealed, it usually followed by a trailer. As moviegoers have come to know, the teaser for The Battle of Five Armies has been ready, but Warner Bros. has yet to reveal it. With this new poster, it is possible that the teaser will be coming; either in a matter of days or it will released during WB panel at Comic-Con. Needless to say, this is a good reason for Hobbit fans to keep in touch with Comic-Con this weekend.

What do you think? Does this poster make you excited for the final chapter in The Hobbit trilogy? Will we see the teaser trailer this weekend? Express your thoughts in the comments below. The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies hits theaters on December 17th.
