
Firehouse living in San Francisco Pacific Heights
Living in in a converted firehouse would be hot, er, cool. This fire house is located in San Francisco in Pacific Height. It is 1893 vintage and was owned by former governor Jerry Brown, ad man Hal Riney and is now owned by John Traina who was married to novelist Danielle Steele.
They raised seven kids together.
As you would expect, this firehouse has huge open spaces and very high ceilings, not to mention the authentic fire pols.
The first floor great room connects with an living rom on an upper floor that includes a pediment topped bookcase. The main residence is small with only two bedrooms and an office. A guest house in the back is one bedroom.
The home has an elevator and wineceller. It's currently listed for $4.4 million.
This one-of-a kind historic and famed firehouse was originally designed by Bernhardt E. Henriksen and then constructed in 1893. Engine Company Number 23 was retired as a firehouse in 1964 and was then purchased by world-renowned designer John Dickenson who recreated the interior into one of Pacific Heights’ most chic residences, while masterfully maintaining the original architectural integrity of the structure.
