Mozilla plans on releasing Firefox 18 tomorrow according to their Wiki and Support Forum. The beta of the browser was released in November 2012.
The latest version of their browser promises faster JavaScript use with the help of the new JIT compiler called IonMonkey. It will also add Retina Display support for Mac computers for sharper movies, game playing and surfing the Web. Also promised with the newest version is faster PDF viewing with a built-in viewer, support for W3C touch events and preliminary support for WebRTC.
The new version will also fix two issues with earlier versions of the browser. The first is improved responsiveness for users on proxies. The second fix will disable insecure content loading on HTTPS pages.
If you use Firefox your browser may automatically update, depending on the settings. If you don't receive a new update by the end of the week you can go to the Firefox Help Menu, choose About Firefox, and update from the window that pops up.
