Firefighters working to put out a house fire found the body of a 58-year-old man Wednesday morning in Cobb County – and investigators are trying to determine what happened.
The victim has been identified as Mr. Arthur Goller, of Marietta.
“While working to put the fire out, they discovered the body of a deceased individual inside the residence,” police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman said.
Mr. Goller’s body has been turned over to the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Firefighters and investigators with the police department’s Crime Against Persons Unit are working together to determine what happened.
It’s unclear who reported the fire and whether the man lived alone. As of late Wednesday, it was also unclear how the fire started.
Anyone with information which may assist investigators is asked to call Gwinnett County police at (770) 499-3945.
