On Thursday, a touching photo of a firefighter, carrying a grateful dog through flood waters in Central Texas, was posted to the Austin Fire Department Facebook page.
Since the photo, taken by Preston Culver, was posted, it has been shared nearly 6,000 times; comments of gratitude and appreciation have been pouring in for the hard-working, compassionate firefighters.
The caption with the image states:
We don't just rescue two-legged victims...we love our four-legged friends as well. Two of AFD's finest--Firefighter Matt Harvey and Firefighter Michael Cooper, both from B shift--show just what that means.
Heavy rains from a large storm system have caused wide-spread flooding in the area.
According to CBS News, the storm has dumped over a foot of rain, prompting flash floods and keeping emergency responders slammed with calls for help.
