Firefighters receive training on Two New Ladder Trucks (Photos)

The City of Mobile Fire Rescue Department is scheduled to put two new ladder trucks on duty before the end of February 2013.

The crew members of Truck 5, Engine 22, Truck 24, and Engine 16 went to the Mobile Fire Rescue Training Facility on 02/19/2013 to get class instructions on and get familiar with the two new ladder trucks that will be put on duty at two different fire stations.

The instructor Doug Fleming began the class about the two new ladder trucks at 9:00AM that morning and the class lasted until lasted until about 4:30PM that evening.

The morning g part of instruction on the two new ladder trucks was classroom instruction, followed by hands on instruction of the two new ladder trucks that evening.

The new ladder truck 5 and ladder truck 24 is scheduled to be put on duty before the end of February 2013.

The two new ladder trucks are to replace the two oldest ladder trucks in the Mobile Fire Rescue Department inventory. Once the two new trucks are placed into active duty the two old trucks will be placed into a reserve status.

The new ladder truck 5 will be stationed at Tapia Fire Station located at 4710 Airport Boulevard just one block west of General Bullard Avenue on the right next to Pep Boys Tires.

The new ladder truck 24 will be stationed off Dauphin Island Parkway at Lathan Fire Station located at 1951 South Maryvale Street across from Maryvale Elementary School.

The Mobile Fire Rescue Training Facility is located at 860 Owens Street Mobile Alabama on the south side of Virginia Street.
