Firefighter saves dog pulled from burning home (Photos)

The Denton Fire Department responded to a call on Friday that a home was in flames.

When they arrived around 6:40 pm, there were no people inside but they did find a small dog that they pulled to safety.

The dog was not out of danger yet however and had difficulty breathing due to smoke inhalation.

“Once we applied the Pet O2 mask, the dog began doing much better and was able to sit up,” firefighter Michael Lugo said in a statement.

The Denton Fire Department had recently gotten the pet oxygen masks and were glad to be able to help. They then transported the pet to a veterinary clinic where it could recover.

The cause of the fire is unknown but the dog is expected to recover just fine thanks to a quick reponse and prepared team.
