The CPAP device know also know as continuous positive airway pressure is a machine that helps people stop snoring and sleep better at night. The CPAP has helped many people by improving the quality of sleep and the quality of an individual’s health. Snoring and sleep apnea can cause health problems such as heart attack, stroke, hypertension, high blood pressure and other dangerous conditions.
The CPAP has also been added to emergency response units in some fire departments to avoid intubation on people with acute edema or congestive heart failure at the scene by forcing air into a person’s lungs.
The CPAP has helped in the number of intubations needed to assist people in oxygen needed to sustain an adequate airway. However there are often times when intubation is needed to sustain an adequate airway.
