Mayor Gloria gave support to the open work on fire department progress last month after thestation groundbreaking. A two story station built on Friars Road across from Qualcomm Stadium will house staff in sixteen dormitory rooms. Fire workers will use the station's five bays and a new 500 gallon fire truck.

More doors to drive trucks out of will make fire rescure work in San Diego more active. "TO keep America's FInset City at its best, the city is significantly investing to improve its aging infrastructure and its neighborhoods," the mayor said.
