UPDATE: Donna Jackson of the British Beatles Fan Club said she was told the fire started in the McCartney Suite and may have been related to work being done in the hotel. But she confirmed there were no injuries.
Fire crews were sent to the only Beatles-themed hotel in the world, the Hard Day's Night Hotel in Liverpool, Thursday when a fire broke out on the fifth floor, it was reported by BBC News today.
The site said the fire, which is now under control, broke out at about 13.20 GMT and the hotel was evacuated. It said no injuries were reported.
The hotel, which opened in 2008, is described as the only Beatles-themed hotel in the world. It's housed in the magnificent Grade II listed Central Buildings, which date back to the year 1884.
The hotel, which has some 110 rooms, features special suites dedicated to Paul McCartney and John Lennon. The McCartney Suite features artwork of McCartney's role in the Beatles story and, the hotel says, "pays tribute to the national and international acclaim to Sir Paul's work in music and the arts." The Lennon Suite features a white piano against a white backdrop.
