Last year at @Mashable's 2nd Annual Social Media Day, June 30, 2011 (http://mashable.com/smday) @FinesseLV led by @DemontDaniel definitely made a lasting impression on the #SocialVegas community. 500+ guests filed into the now shuttered Rok Nightclub in New York, New York Casino. Some were attracted to the Absolut open bar, others Social interaction, and others the chance to BUMP with Frederick Townes, Founding CTO of Mashable.com and now @w3edge.
This year, Daniel is reaching for the stars. For the last 6 weeks, beset with Strip hotels that couldn't get their collective acts together, independent venues that fell through, and a lack of major sponsors aside from @RedBullLV, Daniel may have plucked 3 stars from the proverbial sky.
"The 30th falls on a Saturday this year. We don't have to do just one event... Let's actually make a 'Day' out of it!" Proclaimed Daniel. Surrounding himself with Social Media Sharpshooters including @AssuranceAgency, @CarmelloVision and @JohnMischief -- who just happens to be Finesse's new Director of Social Media, Daniel put the team to task. 3 venues. 3 events. 1 day. #smdayLV
He got the ball rolling by getting Governor @BrianSandoval and Secretary of State @RossJMiller to officially proclaim June 30, 2012 - Social Media Day - #Nevada. And he tied it up in the end by tapping into his Social Network. Friends plugged in to the #SocialVegas scene came through with 3 kickass venues for 3 kickass events: a pool party at @SimonRestaurant's @Palms Place Pool; a tweetup at @BrandSteakLV's Lounge and the piece-de-resistance a Yelp party at @HOBLasVegas featuring @Steel_Panther.
