It is a dilemma for arts-loving foodies - the Hartford Symphony Orchestra's "Play With Food! Second Course" and the Wadsworth Atheneum's Farm-to-Table Dinner are both on Saturday, April 26th. Honorary Chair Ray Hardman of WNPR leads an evening celebration of spring in the galleries, beginning at 6:00pm with a cocktail hour featuring beer, wine and a specialty Onyx Moonshine cocktail accompanied by Italian-inspired hors d’oeuvres.
Sit down to a four-course farm-to-table dinner with fresh ingredients from local farms, distilleries, and vineyards including Rosedale Farms & Vineyards, Onyx Spirits Company, City Steam Brewery, Winding Drive Artisan Jam and Jelly, Hartford Baking Co., NoRA Cupcake Company, and others. The menu includes:
- FIRST COURSE (Antipasto) - A balsamic dressed tri-colore antipasto salad with endive, radicchio, and arugula served with olives, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, roasted eggplant, Italian cheese and a selection of artisan breads
- SECOND COURSE (Il Primo) - Potato Gnocchi served with a mushroom ragu and topped with a pancetta crisp
- THIRD COURSE (Il Secondo) - Braised beef Tuscan style over a polenta cake served with sautéed spinach and white beans
- FOURTH COURSE (Dolce) - NoRA Cannoli Cupcake
