Last night over 500 of Atlanta’s most fashionable and most notable people stepped out to celebrate fashion at Fine Art + Fashion, a benefit for the National Black Arts Festival. A beautifully clad Victoria Rowell, hosted the event in a bright blue dress and strappy Louboutin's.
Textured hair and natural makeup accessorized the beautiful spring fashions by designers like
Chanel,
Dolce and Gabbana and
Oscar De LaRenta , all provided by
Saks Fifth Avenue. While well known designers like
Fendi and
Michael Kors brought the glamour and class expected of their brands, it was little known designer
Yigal Azrouelwhose minimal designs ruled the night. You may know Azrouel as the designer who fired Kelly Cutrone after the
People's Rev founder sat call girl
Ashley Dupre front row at his show during New York Fashion Week 2009. Other stand outs from the night included a navy and gold goddess gown by Chanel and a purple sequined dress by
Alice + Olivia .
Prior to the fashion show’s fashionably late commencement, three of Atlanta’s emerging designers were honored for their commitment to design and talent. Claire Buyens and Jhari Ponder both seniors at Grady High School and Marie Bastien a graduating senior at Clark Atlanta University were all honored with $2,000 ad a gift from
Tiffanys . The young designers will be using their awards to further their education with Buyens and Ponder planning to enter
SCAD in the fall and Bastien setting her sights on obtaining her Master’s from
Parsons . With their raw talent and passion for design, it won’t be long before these three will see their designs dancing down the runways of future fashion weeks.
After the show closed, guests were invited to dance the night away at an after party hosted by radio personality Frank Ski.
