Finding the right person for you

Everyone wants to find that right person for them. The one that matches their lifestyle, who fits their personality and who makes them happy. Finding that person can be a difficult thing if you don’t know yourself that well first. When you’re young you go after that initial physical attraction and when that fades, you find out that you have nothing in common and might not even like each other. Ending up with a partner who is nothing like what you want can be very difficult usually ending in divorce or infidelity.

At times it can be heartbreaking to be with someone that you were in love with in your twenties to find out in your thirties that you have nothing in common, that you don’t click anymore and that the love in the relationship has died. If only loving someone would be strong enough to keep that bond together, but usually it is not.

We meet people at different times in our lives, sometimes those people are just meant to be there for a certain amount of time to teach us a lesson about ourselves. Sometimes they are there to teach us we didn’t need someone else at all to really love ourselves. When we change those relationships shift and we grow apart. That is just how life is. If you are lucky though, you meet your soul mate. Someone who grows with you through the hard times and good times. Someone who stays with you no matter what and is your strongest source of support. To find that person you must know and love yourself. Then you will attract that person.

Ways to get to know yourself is by spending some time alone with yourself. If you have always been in relationships and never had time to get to know you take that time to do so. Create a loving relationship with yourself by honoring and cherishing yourself. Treat yourself like you would want your partner to treat you. Meditation is also a good way to get in touch with who you really are. Get a new hobby and do things you love. These things will help you to find out who you really are and in return attract your ideal partner.
