Finding a compatible career path through networking

Whether new to the work force or a seasoned professional, many individuals struggle with finding the right career path.  A great way to get a feel for a new career is through networking.   Although networking can seem daunting, consider it an investment in career success.  The information gained and relationships formed could lead you to a more rewarding career path.

Every industry or career field has a professional association or trade association, so join at least one.  If joining an association is too costly right now, attend low cost networking events related to your field of interest.

Interested in technology? Connect Work Chicago is hosting an IT/Tech focused networking event on April 27, 2010, from 5-9 p.m.

Check out Networking Monkey for information on a variety of networking opportunities around Chicago.

If you're pressed for time, consider Business Network Chicago's online networking opportunities.

These are just a few resources to get you started meeting new people and exploring new career opportunities.  Best of luck!
