To the makeup-savvy women of the Washington, DC metro area: I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I recently discovered a fantastic line of cosmetics that are not available for purchase at any retail store in the DC area (or any area, for that matter). The very good news is that this line is sold via the internet, through the company’s own website: www.purelycosmetics.com.
In terms of quality, the items I sampled from Purely Cosmetics surpassed my expectations. After wearing these products every day for two weeks, I am still completely convinced that they are far superior to the other, more popular mineral makeup brands (such as those claiming to be both bare and escentual). My personal opinion aside, the ingredients speak for themselves. I was especially impressed that Purely Cosmetics provides a very specific "side-by-side comparison" of their ingredients and the ingredients contained in a variety of other mineral makeup brands (and yes, they “name names”)! Besides the basic foundations, I also tried the Purely Cosmetics “Cream to Powder Eye Shadow”. I must admit that I found the semi-soft appearance of this product to be strange at first. I was pleasantly surprised, however, that it felt ultra-silky and applied in a perfect powdery consistency. This is an excellent product for those looking for a long-wearing eye shadow that will not leave a “crease” on the eyelid.
Of the Purely Cosmetics products I sampled, my favorite was “Diamond Perfect Finish”. This loose powder appears white in the jar, but brushes on colorless. It really is a “perfecting powder” in that it glides over makeup as if to “set” it and almost “buff out” any remaining imperfections. I literally used my sample down to the very last particle, and will definitely order more!
If you are looking for pure ingredients that will benefit your skin, this is definitely a line you must try. Skip the fancy advertising campaigns and check out www.purelycosmetics.com! You (and your face) deserve it!

Hi Lisa! I think you'll find their products more affordable than most brands! They also have great deals on trial sizes ($5 small jars of foundation or $12 for 3 jars).
