Find Bacon Cupcakes and More at the Sugar Shack

Cupcakes, that Champion of desserts, are popular right now. Why? Because they are tasty and portable. A winning combination! But, what is better than a cupcake? A cupcake with bacon inside and on top.

You read that correctly. Bacon. On a cupcake. And yes, chocolate is also invited to the party. As mentioned in a recent Ginger and the Geek Podcast, I finally had a cupcake from the fabled Sugar Shack, right here in Lansing, Michigan.

Sugar Shack has been on my radar for some time now, and I never got around to swinging by--but, I do know it has quite the following. A very loyal following, in fact. Sugar Shack recently moved to 215 N. Clippert St. in Frandor (near a health food store, as the story goes), so if you swing by their old spot on Oakland, do not be affraid--they have not closed. Last week, I had a cupcake given to me by one of our podcast guests.

As mentioned above, the cupcake I tried had chocolate and bacon. It made for a unique, and tasty, combination. If I were not busy training for a triathlon, I would have ate the whole thing, but about half would do for now. But, like George Michael in Wham!, it was a good half.

And get this--Sugar Shack delivers (minimum order, $5), and you can order from their website. What's not to like?

Need something for the ol' sweet tooth? Give Sugar Shack a try.
