Even though it's the middle of winter, you'll find some great gift ideas at the market this weekend.
Both Lynchburg Community Market and the Forest Farmers' Market will be open on Saturday.
Lynchburg Community Market will be open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Pick your favorite chocolate from Chocolates r us or Cao Artisan Chocolates.
Choose from chocolate roses, chocolate covered marshmallows, heart-shaped chocolates, truffles or boxes of yummy candy.
Your favorite valentine will be thrilled to receive one of these chocolate treats. You might even need to pick something up for yourself.
Maybe you'd rather choose a bottle of local wine from Chateau Z Vineyard. There are many selections. Enjoy a tasting while you're at the market and bring home your favorite.
You will also find jewelry, scarves, primitive wood items, greeting cards, art treasures from local artists and much more. You will even find treats for your dogs at Poochie's Pride.
Don't forget to stop at Lorraine Bakery while you're there. Choose from many fresh baked breads and pastries or have the chefs make you a breakfast crepe.
The new Cheese Shop at the Market opened last weekend. Stop in and check out the wide selection of cheeses.
Across town, the Forest Farmers' Market will host 15 vendors on Saturday. The market will be held at their winter location at the Forest Recreation Center, 10088 Rustic Village Road, off Route 811.
Some of the gifts you will find at the Forest Farmers' Market include scarves, bluebird houses in your favorite team colors, hand blown glass jewelry, handbags, soaps, pottery, gift bags and more.
You will also find dog treats, fudge of all types, grass-fed beef, winter vegetables, fish, poultry, pork, eggs, jellies and kettle corn.
Visit one or both of these markets and take the shop local pledge on Saturday. Many in the Lynchburg area have taken the challenge to eat local foods and buy at least $10 each week of products from local companies.
