After almost no snow for a year, the Naperville area finally has some decent snow on the ground. What does that mean for all the little children? We can finally go sledding.
According to Naperville Park District rules, sledding hills are open when there is at least 2 inches of snow and no visible grass.
The sledding hills in Naperville are:
- Riverwalk Sled Hill at Rotary Hill
- Arrowhead Park, 711 Iroquois Avenue
- Brooks Crossings, 1015 95th Street
- Country Lakes Park, 1835 North Aurora Road
- Gartner Park, 524 W Gartner Road
- May Watts Park, 804 S. Whispering Hills Drive
Here are the Naperville Park District rules about the sled hills.
- Wooden sleds and metal-runner sleds are not permitted.
- Keep your sled under control.
- Avoid other sledders and objects.
- Move quickly out of the path of other sledders.
- Climb uphill along the side of the slope.
- Children ages 8 and younger must be supervised by an adult.
- Only inner tubes and plastic sleds are allowed. Toboggans and sleds with metal runners are not permitted.
- No more than two persons are permitted on a sled at one time.
- Snowboards are not allowed on sled hills.
- Violation of posted rules may result in suspension from thesled hill and/or a fine.
The Riverwalk Sled Hill is open till 9 pm on all days except Friday and Saturday when it stays open till 10 pm.
