Have been waiting and waiting.
The wait is over.
Very soon.
Beautiful and manipulative prove a deadly combination in the dramatic thriller The Strange Woman–available for the first time in full HD restoration from the original 35mm film elements, coming to DVD April 29 from Film Chest Media Group.
The charming and extremely beautiful Jenny Hager (played by the real-life gorgeous shoplifter Hedy Lamarr) finds she can always use her looks to get what she wants from men. But beauty is only skin deep and she grows up to be equally heartless and manipulative.
After her drunkard father’s death, she quickly maneuvers herself into a position to marry an older, wealthy businessman … and the father of her childhood friend. Though she often uses his money to do good, she continues to consider all other men fair game … and she’ll stop at nothing to control the ones who cross her path.
Originally released in 1946, The Strange Woman also stars Dennis Hoey, Gene Lockhart, Louis Hayward and George Sanders. Directed by Edgar G. Ulmer, one of the most underrated legends, the film is presented in full screen with an aspect ratio of 4 x 3 and original sound.
