Snagajob’s 3rd annual The Hourly Gig contest is in full swing, and five finalists have been selected.
The Hourly Gig contest is for up and coming singers/bands who still work a day job and are trying to make the leap into the music industry full time. Artists submitted videos of them singing original songs, all vying for an all-expenses paid trip to Denver to open for country artist Chase Rice on Sep. 5.
Five finalists have been selected, and voting is open until Aug. 29. The 2014 finalists are:
Adley Stump - A native of Tulsa, Okla., Adley’s unique sound and infectious personality captured the attention of America in 2012 when she was featured on NBC’s The Voice. Her latest single is titled, “Like This.”
Jill Brooks - A singer/songwriter from Nashville, Tenn., Jill has been singing since the age of two for anyone that would listen. Her persistence has paid off, releasing her debut LP in 2013 entitled, “Shame on Me.”
Scott DeCarlo - A police officer from East Rutherford, N.J., Scott decided to diversify his career path in 2012 by splitting his time between Nashville, Tenn., and his New Jersey home, which lead to the release of his debut album, “A Whole New Kind of Crazy.”
SmithField - Trey Smith and Jennifer Fiedler are a country duo that moved to Nashville, Tenn., from Texas, to pursue their passion for music. The pair’s voices blend perfectly to create the unique sound that is, SmithField.
Will Evans - A Rhode Island native, Will spent the last decade as the primary songwriter, and drummer/frontman of the band Barefoot Truth, before venturing out onto his own to pursue a solo career in music.
Voters can watch the videos of all five finalists and vote as many times as they want for their favorite at www.TheHourlyGig.com. The winner will be announced at 2 p.m. PST on Aug. 29. The winner will then open for Chase Rice on Sep. 5 in Denver, Colo., at Grizzly Rose.
