Finalists at Gorilla Music’s Battle of the Bands determined by 1 decibel (Photos)

On Saturday, March 9, 2013, Gorilla Music’s The Charlotte Battle of the Bands event attracted an amazing lineup of local talent to The Tremont Music Hall. The combined reaction and turnout amongst Saturday’s fan-base proved this to be very evident.

Saturday’s lineup started with a healthy, 11-plus list of talented bands. Each band displayed tireless effort and passion, as they battled for the ultimate prize: Moving on to the final round of Gorilla Music’s Battle of The Bands showcase.

Amongst these amazing groups, there were a few that seemed to stand out and/or appeared to display amazing uniqueness to their respective genres. These groups included: Garlic City, the Indie group from Monroe, NC; Resist, the long-haired-metal-heads, with the amazing lightshow, from Lexington, NC; Beyond the Broken, the “Post-Hardcore” band from Monroe, NC, and Jerry’s Bones, the like-no-other, “Funk-Groove” band from Claremont, NC.

Although Saturday’s lineup of bands displayed amazing effort, it was Beyond the Broken who took the cake, followed by Jerry’s Bones and Resist—both tied for second place—by one decibel of the crowd’s cheer; and, through further deliberation, the Gorilla Music officials announced that all three groups will have an opportunity to move on to the final round of their Battle of the Bands showcase. The dates for the final round is tentative for later this summer—stay tuned!
