Final, unofficial results have been posted for the Florida State Youth Bowling Championships -- otherwise known as The Pepsi Tournament -- that completed a five-weekend run at AMF Bradenton Lanes on May 4.

The competition, open to all United States Bowling Congress youth members in Florida, drew more than 2,000 entrants, including 24 from the host center, which also hosted the Pepsi tourney two years ago.

The highest finish by a bowler representing AMF Bradenton was posted by Isaiah Jackson, who earned a third-place standing in the Under-8 boys category with a four-game score of 505. Another Top 10 performance by a Bradenton youth was a No. 7 placement in Under-15 girls by Mandilee Morange with a six-game pinfall of 1,161.

Pepsi qualifying was conducted throughout the state on Nov. 2-8 and Jan. 18-24, and one-fourth of the entrants advanced to the state finals. Competition was on a scratch basis in five divisions for both boys and girls: 8-under, 10-under, 12-under, 15-under and 20-under. In addition, there were two handicap divisions (12-under and 20-under) for both genders.

Entrants in all of the 15-under and 20-under categories rolled six games, while entrants in all other classifications bowled four games. In addition to scholarship money, the top finishers in various categories will advance to the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships, to be held July 12-18 in Buffalo, N.Y.
