Final NFL power rankings after regular season

NFL power rankings are now obsolete after Week 17 on Dec. 29. From now on, the true NFL power rankings will be decided on the field during the playoffs. They are certainly bound to be more definitive and exceptional, now that all but two of the No. 32 to No. 11 teams in the final rankings are out of action.

27. Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-12

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 4-12

25. Buffalo Bills: 6-10

24. Minnesota Vikings: 5-10-1

23. New York Giants: 7-9

22. Detroit Lions: 7-9

21. St. Louis Rams: 7-9

20. Tennessee Titans: 7-9

14. Dallas Cowboys: 8-8

13. Arizona Cardinals: 10-6

12. Green Bay Packers: 8-7-1

11. San Diego Chargers: 9-7

While only 13 teams finished with a winning record and six more finished at 8-8, the top 10 of the power rankings look better by comparison. All but one of these top teams finished with 11 or more victories, although not all of them are coming into the playoffs as equal.

The accompanying slideshow lists the final 10 of the NFL in the regular season, and where they will start before the ultimate power rankings are forged in January. Will someone from the bottom half of the top 10 finish at No. 1 in February, as per tradition lately?
