‘Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’ beta coming Feb. 25 (Photos)

On Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, Naoki Yoshida, director and producer of “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn”, announced on a Japanese “Final Fantasy XIV Online” forum, that the first phase of the game's beta test will open on February 25. This beta test will include only the Gridania area, which starts in level 15 of the main quest. The test will also include the "Guild Order" feature that is similar to "Behest" from the “Final Fantasy XIV” game. The beta was actually supposed to begin a week earlier, but because of system and character tests, it was delayed. It seems that Square Enix has decided to really take their time with this one, to ensure that the problems the game originally faced do not occur again.

Yoshida also posted several screenshots from the beta, including images of Full Active Time Event (F.A.T.E.), which are sudden, in-game events that will be open to all players.

News of the beta came just one day after Motomu Toriyama, director of “Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIIIannounced that “Lightning Returns” would have a definitive ending, unlike the multiple possible endings of the previous game.
