Square Enix has given the option for PS3 owners to sign up for the beta version of "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn." The beta sign-ups went live on Feb. 22, 2013, and Director Naoki Yoshida had some words to say. "We consider it one of our missions to reacquaint gamers all over the world with the wonders of Final Fantasy. To this end, we’ll be incorporating the most memorable elements of the series into A Realm Reborn." Yoshida went on to add that these themes will not only apply to the initial release but will be contained in additional patches and updates for the PS3.

The MMORPG will feature loads of familiar staples from the "Final Fantasy" series including the Crystal Tower from "Final Fantasy 3" and the ability to ride Magitek Armor right out of "Final Fantasy 6." Veteran fans will also be treated to a wealth of familiar characters, summons and enemies that have been around since the very beginning of the series.

"Final Fantasy XIV" was originally released in careless fashion, met with horrible reviews of its broken gameplay and mediocre storyline. The majority of fans were not in the least satisfied and Square Enix was forced rebuild everything from the ground up. This new version of Final Fantasy XIV relies heavily on nostalgic elements over the course of 25 years, in effort to show that Square Enix will not give up producing worthwhile content and epic storylines. Mixing the old with the new, "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" is sure to attract countless of MMORPG gamers whether they be old-school fans or newcomers to the series.
