Sakura Minamida has provided a few more details in regards to the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita versions of the upcoming compilation, “Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Remaster.” In the comments section of the Playstation Blog on Dec. 16, the senior product manager at Square Enix first clarified that the two remastered video games will be available on one disc for the home console. You can check out her comments below:
The game will be downloadable on PSN for both Vita and PS3. If you are asking if the hard copy of the PS3 also has a X-2 voucher, then no it doesn’t. The hard copy of the PS3 version has both games in one disc and only the Vita will be a combo with the FFX Cartridge and FFX-2 voucher packed in.
Sakura Minamida also confirmed that the trophies for “Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Remaster” will be combined for both iterations. As a result, earning a trophy for the Playstation 3 version will automatically unlock the same one from the Playstation Vita copy when synced to the server. You can find a few screens from the remastered titles in the slideshow to the left of this article and the statement below:
The trophies are combined; each title has its own trophy set (X and X-2) even though they’re one SKU on PS3; once you’ve earned trophies on Vita, syncing with the server will give you them on PS3, and vice versa. :)
Moreover, the senior product manager posted the estimated file sizes for the collection, while also mentioning that the two remastered software products can’t be bought separately on either the Playstation 3 or Playstation Vita. You can take a look at the required hard drive space below:
- PS3 PSN: Around 24.1 GB
- PS Vita PSN: FFX and FFX-2 combined should be 7 GB.
- PS Via X-2 PSN: Should be around 3.5GB
“Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Remaster” is slated to come out on March 21, 2014 in the North American region. The compilation has a standard price tag of $39.99 on the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita platforms.
