'Final Fantasy X-2' to be remastered and bundled with 'Final Fantasy X' on PS3 (Photos)

It’s been known for quite a while now that Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy X” would be getting remastered and released on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in high definition, but according to a scan found in Japan’s Weekly Shounen Jump magazine on March 19, it looks like its sequel “Final Fantasy X-2”, is getting the HD treatment as well.

There is, however, one little catch: “Final Fantasy X-2” will only be seen bundled with its predecessor on the PS3. At this time, there are no plans for both games in the “Final Fantasy X” compilation to be bundled together in HD on the handheld Vita.

While this may be seen as a bit of a loss for Vita owners, let’s face it—”FFX-2” wasn’t the greatest of games in the PlayStation 2 era, especially as far as “Final Fantasy” games go. The game quite frankly paled in comparison to its predecessor, and was joked about and touted as the “Charlie’s Angels” sequel to “Final Fantasy X”. While it does tie up Yuna and Tidus’ story in a nice little bow, giving them their happy ending they didn’t get in the original game, the rest of the game is more take it or leave it for the most part.

“Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster” still has no official release date for either system, but it’s expected to be out sometime later this year.
