Yoshinori Kitase may have hinted at the possible releases of “Final Fantasy Versus XIII” and “Final Fantasy Type-0.” In an interview with IGN on Jan. 18, the producer of “Final Fantasy” mentioned that, while the “Final Fantasy XIII” saga is ending with “Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII,” the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology may be continuing. You can check out some screens from both games in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from Yoshinori Kitase below (courtesy of IGN):
When you say this universe, if you’re talking about the universe that we have been seeing in XIII, XIII-2 and this game, that includes Cocoon, Gran Pulse and the islands in this instalment; that is definitely coming to an end. But if you’re on about Fabula Nova Crystallis and the mythology that these stories are based on, that may continue.
“Final Fantasy Versus XIII” and “Final Fantasy Type-0” was announced along with “Final Fantasy XIII” in 2006 as the three games to be based on the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology.
“Final Fantasy Versus XIII” is currently still in development exclusively for the Playstation 3 console at the Square Enix 1st Production Department studio. You can pre-order the action-role-playing game in the following link: “Final Fantasy Versus XIII”
“Final Fantasy Type-0” came out for the PSP in Japan on Oct. 27, 2011. The handheld role-playing game has not yet been localized for North America.
